Taxonomy

Accurate identification of species is key to their successful conservation. We are working towards development of effective tools for identification of the flora and fauna of the country using a mix of traditional taxonomy and emerging new techniques of molecular genetics. The work we do involves standardization of techniques and developing appropriate documentation and capacities of officials of government line agencies associated with enforcement of conservation laws and management of natural resources.
