The team at ‘Maaty’ is a group of like minded individuals who are committed to the protection and efficient management of our natural resources. To achieve the goal of effective conservation and management of our natural resources we have adopted a three pronged approach. Our objectives are
Knowledge dissemination: Collate and disseminate empirical information on efficient management and conservation of natural resources based on scientific best practices for various stakeholder groups.
Anthropological studies: Partner with forest dwelling and other communities to collate traditional knowledge on established best practices for sustainable utilization of natural resources for development of sustainable livelihoods and women empowerment.
Scientific Research: Develop science based methods for assessment of natural resources through development of field based assessments of biodiversity both within and outside protected areas and enforcement of wildlife protection laws of the nation through use of DNA based methods of wildlife forensics.
We aim at building a dynamic and efficient team of scientists, researchers, social workers, and local communities working synergistically for the protection, conservation and restoration of nature and natural resources for serving mother earth.
